Kayar Raghavan is a senior executive with rich international experience in Banking Business, Operations and Technology, Risk Management, Global Programme Leadership and Outsourcing of Financial O&T Services. He has been a banker for 35+ years half of which has been with Citibank, across continents. Rags, as he was known at Citi, was global head of a major Citi unit that handled over trillion dollar payments and securities operations on a daily basis. He also led a team that reengineered treasury and liquidity management operations at the bank. He once led a year-long effort of organizational renewal at a Citi subsidiary.

Raghavan subsequently served as a senior advisor to Wipro Technologies, working for its then CEO for a couple of years. In his consultancy role, he has also worked with a gulf bank and in 2011 conducted the functional due diligence of a multi-billion dollar payment product deal on behalf of two global PE firms.

Currently a business consultant, non-executive director and advisor to startups, Raghavanis known for exhibiting great temperament and judgment in challenging situations. He is a natural leader and communicator with exceptional general knowledge and transferable skills. Raghavan has freelanced for a while in financial and sports journalism writing among others for Business India and Indian Express. He was also an occasional commentator of horse racing at the Madras Race Club in the early-80s. His interests include politics, economics, finance, public policy and, of late, the Startup world.

Raghavan is a graduate of Loyola College, Madras. He also did a Masters Certificate course in Management, sponsored by Citi, at George Washington University, DC. In addition to Tamil, he is fluent in Hindi and spoken French.
